Business Development Manager

Our company is commercializing or deploying a range of carbon diversion, membrane, BNR, biofiltration, and other systems. We work with global clients such as Samsung, Ecolab, and the world’s biggest cities to upcycle wastes, shrink treatment processes, reduce energy footprints and advance water & nutrient reuse. TRAVEL:

May be required to travel up to 35% of time, up to 12 days consecutively.

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop expertise in product design, operation, value proposition and pricing. Periodically review product offering to identify new value opportunities for clients.

  2. To collect and leverage market intelligence in order to identify new opportunities.

  3. To develop strong relationships with clients & stakeholders in order to advance our company’s market position.

  4. To manage projects from lead generation through proposal, piloting, construction & performance validation.

  5. To develop and execute sales and marketing strategies for our portfolio of technologies.

  6. To assist in managing sales personnel and relationships with local reps.

  7. Draft & publish both technical and non-technical articles, research reports, white papers, proposals and lectures.

  8. Represent the company at trade shows, client meetings and technical conferences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Sciences/Engineering plus min. 4 years’ experience in the environmental services industry.

  2. Master’s degree, or minimum 4 years’ experience in technical sales, marketing or product management.

  3. Fluent English speaker with excellent communication & writing skills, confidence and positive attitude.

  4. Sterling reputation for dependability, integrity and courtesy. Must be able to work under pressure.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Demonstrated track record in technical sales of treatment products to municipal & industrial clients.

  2. Experience with process design or optimization of biological treatment or membrane systems.

  3. Experience managing direct reports and client accounts.

  4. Spanish-language skills, hands-on technical skills.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Published scientific articles or technical presentations. Experience at industry conferences (Weftec, etc.)

  2. Technical familiarity with enhanced primary treatment, deammonification, RO/AOP and thermal hydrolysis processes.

We work in some of the world’s biggest treatment plants to upcycle wastes, shrink treatment processes, reduce energy footprints and advance water & nutrient reuse.

Our ideal candidate is an organized, creative mid-career or senior engineer with passion, integrity, humility and strong interpersonal skills. This position provides career development potential & the opportunity to develop technical expertise in a range of new technologies and perhaps participate in generating new process patents.

TRAVEL:

May be required to travel up to 30% of time, up to 21 days consecutively.

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Produce & manage project proposals, schedules, logistics, budgets, sourcing and deliverables. Cost control.

  2. Provide remote and onsite technical review and support for existing clients and technology pilots.

  3. To cultivate strong relationships with clients & stakeholders in order to successfully implement projects.

  4. To shepherd projects from proposal through piloting, construction & performance validation.

  5. Management, training and mentoring of junior engineers, operators and technicians.

  6. Represent the company at project & stakeholder meetings and technical conferences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related discipline, plus 5 years’ experience in project management.

  2. At least 3 years’ experience in the environmental services industry, preferably in wastewater treatment.

  3. Fluent English speaker with excellent communication & writing skills.

  4. Sterling reputation for dependability, integrity, courtesy & professionalism. Must be able to work under pressure with a positive attitude.

  5. Strong technical proficiency in civil/environmental engineering discipline.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Registered Professional Engineer (State of California license preferred but other states will be accepted).

  2. Experience with process design or optimization of biological treatment or membrane systems.

  3. Experience managing direct reports and client accounts.

  4. Spanish-language skills, hands-on technical skills.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Published scientific articles or technical presentations. Experience at industry conferences (Weftec, etc.)

  2. Technical familiarity with annamox, enhanced primary treatment, RO/AOP and thermal hydrolysis processes.
